You’re in the kitchen looking through your refrigerator and realize you need to buy some milk. You grab the Amazon Wand that is magnetically stuck on the fridge door, push a button and say “Reorder milk”. Or maybe you’re in the mood to make a seafood dinner. You grab the Amazon Wand, push a button and say “Ask AllRecipes for a shrimp recipe.” These are only two of many examples of what the new Amazon Dash Wand with Alexa can do.
What is the Amazon Dash Wand?
The goal of the wand is to make it convenient to buy groceries, find recipes, convert cups to ounces, buy or reorder essentials, find restaurants, and more. Imagine Alexa but in a hand-held device. Plus, Amazon has made it even more convenient to add products to your Amazon shopping cart by adding a barcode scanner to the wand! Just scan a product barcode and it will be ready for you to purchase on Amazon.
The wand stands at 5.6 x 1.2 x 0.8 inches and weighs 1.1 ounces. It is Wi-Fi enabled and durable. Although I couldn’t find it on their website, I am going to guess it runs on a couple of AA batteries. It looks to have only one button, a loop for hanging it if needed, and a barcode scanner.
